El Refugio de El Pilar is one of the most popular recreational areas of La Palma Island. Its location is ideal as a starting point for the famous Ruta de Los Volcanes (Volcano Route). The refuge is situated between the Cumbre Nueva and Cumbre Vieja.

On the road to El Paso, you will enjoy of splendid views of the Aridane Valley and the Montaña Quemada volcano (erupted in the late XV). The phantasmagorical effects created by the drifting clouds justify the popular nickname of Llano de Las Brujas (The Witches' Plain).

Puerto de Tazacorte is a beach covered by black sand. It is very popular in summer and has a promenade dotted with restaurants, where you can try the fresh fish from the area.
